Abstract

The report was prepared in response to a renewed regional interest in options for deeper regional economic integration. The key messages of the report are that for Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia the potential benefits from intraregional merchandise trade liberalization are likely to be relatively small; however, larger benefits would be realized from a deeper integration, including improvements in the investment climate, reforms in the services sector, and regional trade integration with the EU.
