Abstract

In 1942 Joaquin Egea Fernandez created his factory of yarns and manufactures of esparto grass that would be called Egea Filatures in 1955. Company that was manufacturing for decades a wide range of products and that would end up specializing in cordage. Joaquin Egea patented in 1956 an esparto grass crush machine that improved in 1959 and with which he succeeded in replacing the mace decks for a more productive, safe and hygienic system. In addition, constant innovations, the modernization of its facilities and the adaptation to new markets and materials, have allowed the company Egea Hilaturas to fulfill in seventy-five years in the hands of its successors.
