Abstract

Reviewing "Debating P.C.: The Controversy Over Political Correctness on College Campuses" (Paul Berman, ed., 1992). The furor over "political correctness" has been an acutely frustrating cultural phenomenon; pregnant with great possibility, touching on vital and fascinating issues, yet initially formulated in a one-sided and myopic manner that guarantees sterility or active harm.

Keywords: Political Correctness, Free Speech, Academia, Liberal Education, Egalitarianism, Relativism, Conservatism
