Abstract

The idea of freedom dominates Western thought. Why? For it to have such an effect, and for people to place themselves in harm’s way to defend their right and that of their descendants, then freedom must have a psychological impact. Given all social causality is via the mind, then freedom must have a positive psychological impact on the minds of those committed to it.

Keywords: the idea of freedom, the psychology of freedom, the link of ideology to the personal ideas
