Abstract

The problems of accession of Russia to the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) are discussed. Basic contentious AEWA provisions concern spring hunting and lead shot use. Insufficient democratic character of in-Russian process, exception of public participation can lead to accession of Russia on the conditions including unreasonable diminishing of hunting rights of Russians.
