The paper deals with regional inequality of per capita income by income class in Brazil. Regional income inequality measures by income class are calculated, allowing for the identification of the income classes for which inequality is the highest. The indicators are calculated for the years 1960, 1970, 1980 and 1991. For each income class the speed of convergence is estimated, allowing for the identification of the income classes for which convergence is taking place and at what speed.
