Abstract

This paper applies traditional methods of geopolitical analysis to the characteristics and consequences of the Israeli security barrier currently being constructed along Israel's border with the Palestinian West Bank. Special attention will focus on the semantics of the barrier, the history of the barrier's construction, and the political, economic and humanitarian effects the barrier has on the viability of a prospective Palestinian state.
