Abstract

This paper studies the role and importance of alternative energy sources in Northeastern part of India. Emphasis is on wind and solar energy, their use and prospects. It is imperative to make aware the public with renewable energy policy and it possibility in overall energy balance and to satisfy future energy needs. There is a need to encourage private sector to increase the efficiency and competitiveness.
