Abstract

This paper studies the role and importance of service sector in the economies of the North-Eastern states of India. The main objective of this paper is to highlight some of the recent developments and trends in the service sector of this region with help of explaining structural transformation within the service sector. This includes pre and post globalisation era from 1980-81 to 1995-96. This also looks for the possibility of growth and prospects of service sector in of North-Eastern states of India.
