Abstract

Abstract: Global tendencies and priorities change, therefore, in the current socio-economic context, the big challenge for the Romania’s tourism industry is the growth of competitiveness. Romania displays powerful competitiveness gaps as against European Union’s states, but also as against other world’s countries, aspect that can be interpreted as a week efficiency of tourism sector. The present paper holds forth to analyze the evolution of Romanian tourism sector’s competitiveness, to identify both the strong aspects and the barriers that are placed in front of this sector’s development and to frame the main direction actions that would lead to an increase for the Romanian’s tourism competitiveness at a European and international level.
