Abstract

The Finance Commission is a unique constitutional body in India which provides recommendations for sharing of tax revenue between the federal government and the state governments. The present paper seeks to showcase the development of Finance Commission's recommendations over the period of last 50 years and to analyze the recommendations of the Eleventh Finance Commission in this background.
